Went with the dogs to visit the chickens today

Carelessly mentioned it in front of the dogs' fangroup and ended up with a gaggle of kids trailing behind. I felt like the Pied Piper, if he'd been conscientious enough to make the children get permission before leading them off.

The chickens did not disappoint. They never do. They're chickens. Also, for the first time I got to meet their human, so that was nice. ("Hi! I'm just here to visit your chickens!")

there's a house nearish ACME with chickens, and the teachers will often route a walk past, so the kids can see the chickens. it's always a highlight for them

We have feral chickens throughout the neighborhood, and my dogs don't bother them unless they enter our fenced yard; then they will chase them out. I have seen neighborhood dogs catch and eat chickens.

If I wanted fresh eggs, I would need a way to catch some, and a chicken coop.
