I went to the store and forgot to get peanuts* for the squirrels.

* Peanuts and sunflower seeds, while inexpensive, are nutritionally incomplete and, therefore, should be used for supplemental nutrition only, so these are going to be carefully rationed

You're reading about regular squirrels. Window squirrels only need peanuts and sunflower seeds.

Would you believe, I couldn't even get sunflower seeds? I ended up making up the difference with corn. It's marked as "corn meal" but it's clearly a Haitian (?) variety that's less "meal" and more "cracked kernals".

I didn't think of treats for birds and squirrels. I do have some nuts though. I'm kicking myself because I didn't think to get treats for the cats, like a can of tuna. Maybe I have some shrimp in the freezer.
