We're not actually getting snow like the rest of everybody. No, we're in for rain followed by a steep drop into freezing temperatures. This is gonna suck.

I think we're going to be in your boat too. Although we may be getting snow *after* the rain and freezing temperatures. So far, no precipitation of any kind though.

We're getting much the same, which doesn't improve my confidence about the roads, but work doesn't call off for icy roads much of the time.

I looked up the original Japanese:

冬枯れや
世は一色に
風の音

...and learned that fuyugare, translated as "winter solitude," also means "a bad business environment" in modern Japanese. Appropriate for freezing rain.
