I go downstairs to the second floor to use the bathroom. Moonpie went down with me, and when I got back to my room she ran up from the first floor with a mouthful of wet dog food that she dropped at my door.

Could be worse. Sometimes she drops her mouthful of wet dog food on people's beds.

The older of our current two dogs, Bailey, has long had the habit of picking up a mouthful of food and either dropping it on the floor in front of her dish or taking it into the living room and dropping it there before actually eating it.

The younger dog, Archie, is usually pretty scrupulous about not eating out of Bailey's dish, but once the food hits the floor he figures it's fair game. So he not infrequently skulks behind her as she eats, waiting for her to drop things on the floor, because that's less terrifying than venturing into the kitchen to eat his own food. And this hasn't (yet) taught her not to.

Oh, no, she's definitely not. She isn't feeding me. That food is for her.

She wanted to eat, but not really? My male dog will deliberately drop kibble on the floor around the bowl.

The extra artery doesn't need to be selected for to increase in the population. It just has to be not selected against.
