Jenn is away, so Finn is sleeping with me

Me: Finn, this is a queen-sized bed
Finn: Yes!
Me: And you are a toy poodle.
Finn: Yes!
Me: You are toy sized.
Finn: Yes!
Me: So this bed is big enough for the both of us.
Finn: Yes! Yes! Yes! This bed is big enough for me to snuggle a human!
Me: Great! So glad we agree. Let's set you up against the wall, vertically.
Finn: Yes! But what if... what if I lie down in the middle of the bed, diagonally?
Me: Um. Then the bed is not big enough for the both of us. How about if you go here, against the wall, vertically?
Finn: Yes! Or, I could go here, in the middle, diagonally!
Me: No, that doesn't work.
Finn: Come snuggle me! Come snuggle me! Come snuggle me! I am in the middle! Diagonally!
Me: ....

Reminds me of the beloved toy spaniel I had in my teens who used to try and sleep on my head despite having acres of a king-size bed to choose from.

sounds like I'm very lucky that Olivier generally joins me after I've already lain down, so he's forced to fit himself around me, and not the other way round

Finn goes to bed before I do. I have to snuggle him so he'll sleep, and then when I get up he resettles himself.

Most nights, the Large Orange Cat will eventually settle into the corner of the bed, beside my feet. Until then, however, there is the nightly negotiations starting with draping over my legs, then sprawled between my legs, then curling in the crook of my knees, to get through.

I am very amused by the little dog who has found a way to claim more than his share of the queen-sized bed.
