In other news, Finn has a wart

Well, he's had a wart, on his shoulder. Except recently it's begun growing and now it's quite troubling and he has to go to the vet.

We can swing the appointment - I mean, we'll just have to suck it up and eat more beans and pasta - but I'm hoping it's actually nothing serious. Not because of the cost, but because of his quality of life. I mean, it's not *not* because of the cost, but even if we had loads of cash he's still an old dog. There's a limit to what sort of interventions are appropriate at that age.

But I'm most likely worrying over nothing. I'm sure that's what the vet will say on Monday. Fingers crossed!

... Finn is an old man puppydog? I admit to picturing him as a perma-young adult dog, probably because your stories of him paint him as a source of bouncy joy. Then again, the lab in the icon was also a source of bouncy joy, even at twelve.

The vet guessed he was 7 or 8 when we got him, and that was 6 years ago.

And while he is a source of joy, he's not very bouncy! He's a little arthritic in the mornings, and he has trouble jumping up and down on things.

He really is a sweetheart, especially when he tries to play. He's kinda crap at play. He wants to play fetch, but he tends to get distracted halfway through the "fetch" part because he also wants to be snuggled!
