You are all amazing, and I love everybody.

Also, it turns out I had $25 in my Paypal that I didn't even know about and I'm not sure how that happened. Using this example as instructive, I'm leaving the bulk of everybody's kind gifts in paypal and venmo until I am literally about to spend it. That is the smarter way to manage things, especially since my passwords a. aren't autosaved and b. were randomly generated so c. they're a hassle to type out. You can't carelessly fritter away money if it's not in your pocket, burning a little hole. Not that I would, but this way I can't even be nagged by thoughts like "One under $5 kindle book, what can it hurt?" or "One soda, what can it hurt?" or "One slice of pizza, what can it hurt?" and so on. I'm sure nobody would begrudge me one unnecessary expense, but what it CAN hurt is all of them. Nope. Money safe until it needs to be spent on groceries or something else essential.

I wouldn't begrudge you an unnecessary expense; I am going to note that Paypal has history for seemingly-randomly "freezing" people's funds, and making it difficult at best to either find out what's going on, or appeal the decision. I use Paypal, but don't leave money there. I had left some money in my Venmo account, noticed this a couple of days ago, and had them transfer that to my bank account.

Or commit to telling people how you're spending the money. :p

They usually freeze accounts if you have a large influx of money.

Yeah, I don't leave money in Paypal for the same reason. Can you stick it in a savings account or something else that's more of a hassle to use than cash would be?
