Up to season 3 of Amphibia
Mar. 24th, 2022 04:39 pmI knew I didn't trust Marcy. Those writers apparently can do subtle when they want, and it may actually have gone over the heads of viewers in the intended age group, but if it was immediately obvious to me that the Newt government is responsible for the Toad army and tax collectors harassing Frog towns, it must also have been obvious to Marcy. That was hammered down when she refers to Toadstool as "the local toad". Marcy, if you know the system is a traditional empire where different parties are played against each other, all for the benefit of a third party who extracts the resources and gives very little back - why are you aligned with Newtopia!? Just because they found you? Oh, they have free public healthcare, cool - but that largesse isn't exactly reaching Wartwood, is it?
Which brings me to - why exactly does Andrias want to rule multiple worlds? He's not doing such a great job of ruling Amphibia. He's pretty hands-off, in fact. The Newt government manipulates the local governments so it's virtually impossible for Frog towns to be run by Frogs. The Toads in charge of the Frog towns collect the taxes (skimming a little off the top), and this is enforced by the various branches of the Toad army, all of whom take their share and then send it on to Newtopia, and whatever's left after the Newt communities fund themselves goes, I presume, to Andrias who... spends it on what, exactly? Where is it all even going? His ancient abandoned war factories seem to run themselves, and I doubt he paid contractors to make his palace fly so... what is he doing with his ill-gotten wealth?
He's really not making the most out of ruling one world, is all I'm saying. Can he even manage two? Or more than two? Sure, his robot armies are not terribly likely to rebel against him... but I just don't see him as maintaining an interest in micromanaging them for very long, when he hasn't maintained a similar interest in running the world he already lives in.
This is all very ill-conceived.
In other news, you'll all be glad to know my hand hasn't fallen off, and I'm not dead yet. It's only my right hand anyway - that's the one I can live without!
Quite seriously, if this bite had drawn blood, if Mama Cat's rabies shot was not up to date, or of course if there had been any swelling, if the pain increased instead of steadily decreasing like it's supposed to, or if there had been red lines radiating outward I would've gone straight to the ER. Bites, especially bites from cats, are very serious, and I only was willing to take the chance of washing thoroughly and waiting because she didn't break the skin or draw blood. And even then, I only took the chance because I hate doctors so much. I mean, not doctors, they're fine, I just hate seeing them in a professional capacity. I am aware this is a stupid reason to not see them.
All puncture wounds are a potential risk factor, especially bites or those that occur in a somehow "dirty" environment, for example, if you step on something or if there's a probable chance of dirt or animal feces around.
