"The color or tone of the cover was dark blues and purples and the cover looked like someone very talented like draws stuff and post it on Instagram good."

I did figure out the book (The Real Boy, Anne Ursu, highly recommend) but my eyebrow went up a bit.

Possibly I shouldn't make fun of these book finding requests quite so much, but it's almost entirely out of affection rather than condescension, I promise.

I think if I were answering those requests, I’d do a lot of reciting, “It’s good that they want to read more.” 😄

Also, thanks for the rec! I loved Anne Ursu’s Breadcrumbs; will be happy to try another of hers.

...

The cover looked good enough that they could have put it on Instagram.

...

Not, like "good like maybe a professional book cover artist did it."

Wow.

Oh I get it. When i worked in the children's library, i was the go to person for this sort of thing as long as it wasn't a Picture Book.

I enjoy these.

Book requests often say more about the people who are trying to find them than the people who have to wrangle them.

I did find one for someone who was looking to see if they could turn on their checkout history and have that magically appear for them, but they had the plot correct and the identities of the main characters, so it was really a matter of finding the right book list than doing major magic.
