I did figure out the book (The Real Boy, Anne Ursu, highly recommend) but my eyebrow went up a bit.

Date: 2022-02-20 08:18 pm (UTC)I did find one for someone who was looking to see if they could turn on their checkout history and have that magically appear for them, but they had the plot correct and the identities of the main characters, so it was really a matter of finding the right book list than doing major magic.
