I gotta say, I was expecting a bit more homophobia instead of a surprise attack of... is this outright Islamophobia or is it just generalized geographical ignorance? Does he think this is just a thing Muslims do, or does he just not realize that Iran is not under the thumb of ISIS? (Does he realize at all that Iran and Iraq are different places?)

Still, like I said - he appears to have willingly participated in the God Is Not Dead franchise, and even if he is a super fundie you'd think he'd have more professional pride than that.

Can't say about him specifically, but in general, all of the above + racism. Brown people = Muslims = Middle East people. (Some would probably add scare quotes to that last word.)
