I have no idea what I think of a new B5.

On the one hand, if JMS is still heavily involved that's probably a good thing... on the other hand, I anticipate both hating the changes and the similarities with equal measure. I'm not always so good with change :(

Well, I hope it's more like the reboot Battlestar Galactica rather than other reboots we all could name.

That reboot did a very good job. I understand the complaints about that last half-hour of the series, but I'm not sure that I agree with those...

I'm fine with the idea of a reboot, I just don't trust the CW. Not even with JMS at the helm.

Re. change, I might have been happier with a different story in the same universe. Though, if more a remake, it'd be nice to see what could have happened with more certainty of next seasons and not losing actors. I'm cautiously hopeful, especially if lessons have been learned, especially if humor comes from somebody who can actually write humor.

Well, I know what I think of the old B5. Really good premise, really inconsistent execution. Some of the acting was memorably bad, and the writing at times surpassed TOS 3rd season with less excuse.

I hadn't heard of that, interesting. Of course, CGI and blue screen has advanced tremendously since the era of the Amiga. As long as JMS is at the helm, should be entertaining.

It was very sobering in the article I read to have it listed all the original B5 cast members who have died. Like, I knew they had, but to have them all stated in a row? :(

I have mixed feelings about this but would watch it.

It depends on whether this is "trying to tell the story again, this time with less likelihood of having to rush the final seasons" or "telling an alternate story" or "telling the story from an alternate perspective, like from the point of view of the Zocalo." It could be good, it could be terrible, and I hope the B5 curse stays well away from it.
