We have one (1) cat who is 5kg.
He can take up the entire bed. It's cat physics, I'm sure.

They are both experts at spreading themselves out, and being a complete dead weight.

We also have three cats, one of whom has finally started coming in my room again these past few months. (She avoided the place after we got the dogs, which really annoyed me because she's my cat, not a family cat, but she's loosening up. So long as the dogs aren't in it.)

Crinoid fossils are common in the limestone around here, but are shaped like beads or Asian coins (discs with holes). They've been on of my favorite fossils since childhood. I don't know if I've ever found any as star shaped as those in the link.

Yes, it is known. One seven-pound cat sleeping in the exact middle of my bed is immoveable. Until early morning when she wants her breakfast and sticks her paws in my face and lies on my nose until I get up.

Our poodle has severe separation anxiety. It took him months to accept the idea that if we left for a few minutes, that didn't mean he was abandoned forever. Months in which when he started howling he wouldn't stop, even if you came back.

I think it has to do with the number of legs an animal has. The more legs they can splay out, the more space they have to themselves. Then again, I could well be wrong: it could be cat or dog physics.

Our bed is a king and my husband and I are side of the bed sleepers, so there's a vast expanse in the middle. When little Lily Dog, who is a dachshund-chihuahua mix weighing 22 pounds (the chihuahua did not have much to say about how she looks) sleeps with us, she takes up the whole space in the middle. When we try to pick her up to move her, she becomes heavy as an engine block.

We joke that her superpower is gaining mass to become immoveable. :-D
