(Amazing how much friendlier Wendy is when my dogs aren't there! Not that she's exactly sociable, but she did approach me until I reached out a hand.)

When I asked if he knew who the neighbor with the dalmation was, he said "Oh, did he get out again?" which pretty much summed up the answer to my real question, which was "Is it worth talking to the parents about how they need to be more responsible with this animal?" (Not blaming the kids for this one. They were pretty well-behaved, they just aren't big enough to hold back their dog.)

He also told me that somebody had pooped in his living room and he wasn't sure who. I dunno, but I think it was probably one of the dogs.

well, one hopes that it's not one of those cases of someone secretly living in a closet or in the basement.

One hopes it was one of the dogs, at least.

I, too, had a neighbor dog conversation yesterday. I headed out of the house about 7:15 to get an oil change, and drove by an older gent who had a a charcoal poodle-like dog. I stopped, rolled down the window, and complimented him on his dog, telling him we had two standard poodles. His was a labradoodle, as it happened.
