I have caught a few episodes with her and I have questions. Mostly those questions are "But how...?"

She won't answer my questions anymore and kicked me out for my opinion that the whole cutie marks thing is actually a bit dystopian if you think about it. Which is fair, but I'm going on the record with that opinion. IT IS.

Stick with the series and that attitude about cutie mark dystopia, I'm going to say, and you'll have a lot of fun going through the later seasons.

What if your sole purpose is something you're not good at? What if you change as a person? I mean... ugh!

When you get to the seasons with the Cutie Mark Crusaders, I think they'll help you get even more of those questions yelled out.

And I really want you to stick it out long enough to meet Starlight Glimmer, because that will be either the best or worst thing for you to watch.

I've only watched a bit of the first season and I was definitely pretty side-eye at the class differences between the ponies, the pegasi, and the unicorns. Like, Apple Jack is harvesting apples by kicking trees when Twilight Sparkle can probably just wave her horn once??

Also, that dragon is gonna have some serious identity issues when it grows up.

As indicated above, the showrunners are definitely aware of many of the dystopian aspects and even poke at some of them in a moderately hard way. Not consistently and often pulling their punches, possibly because they want to keep their kidz show chipper, but at least there's gestures towards problems.

I love the world-building in MLP so much. The cutie-mark thing is a bit touchy, I will give you that, but I like the application of it, and how they explore the meanings in later seasons.

Also, the cumulative "Christmas" mythology cracks me up.
