Tricking out sax so is venerable. Notice that the pianist has good line of sight and the fire extinguisher in reach.

This is what happens when a woodwind is made of brass. Flutes and piccolos have done sparklers, iirc.

Yes, I worry more about flaming bagpipes, which are traditionally made of wood.

As an instrument of war, the fire at least clarifies that point.
