Now they're throwing hissy fits that sometimes corporations (they're people!) don't side with their pissy little agendas.

Just fascinating! (Also, Newt Gingrich is projecting again, but what else is new?)

The two things that puzzle (amuse) me is how being 'woke': aware of injustice - is a bad thing, and if you disagree with their protests of 'cancel culture' they'll boycott you.

Those two things puzzle me as well. "Puzzle" includes "annoy" in my case.

In 1991 the owners of the NFL voted to remove the Superbowl from Phoenix because the state cancelled the MLK holiday.

I don't recall the RNC putting up a big stink over that.

We had a big idiot as governor back then, Evan Mecham. I kid you not: he was a used car salesman. If you ever want a really strange Wikipedia read, look'm up. I guess he had really weak opposition, or maybe a split ticket, I don't remember.

Our current premier is an accused-by-a-news-service suspect in hashish dealing. The allegations date back to his high school days. The newspaper that published the allegations was The Globe and Mail. And yet, he was installed as our premier anyway.

It's amazing how people can get elected to office.

It is certainly interesting to watch the Republican party become more and more open about their agenda, threats, and designs. What used to be whispers is now out in the open, and it doesn't appear to have hurt them a whole lot to be open about it.

When you've got a minimum of 25 % of voting-eligible citizens of whatever country willing to side with such a party and you're able to keep away half of everyone else from the polls by whatever means...eurgh.

I haven't. It happens less often where I live, but I've seen the horror stories of the States.

There was a beautiful headline along the lines of "GOP says corporations should stay out of politics except to make donations". Yeah, uh, that's not how it works.
