What idiot insists on an animal being uncontained in a place as strange and busy as an airport? I'm glad the cat was found, but the whole thing was so completely preventable.

Apparently the logic is that it's bad for the cat to be exposed to xrays while the carrier is being examined.

I say that if this is the case, all investigations of animal cages should be done in a secured room. It ain't rocket surgery.
