Jenn took my suggestion and watched The Dragon Prince with Eva and periodically me. Which means I finally have somebody to listen to me say Soren isn't stupid and never was. He's just been pushed into the role of "dumb jock" by his evil, gaslighting asshole of a father and that whole toxic family dynamic. The "dumb" things Soren says aren't any weirder or stranger or stupider than the things Claudia says, but when she says them it's okay because she's got her head full of smart things like magic. Nepotism didn't get Soren his choice job on the Crown Guard. That's a leadership role, and he's still pretty young to have it, and he didn't get it by hitting the jobs pinata really hard.

It's too obvious that as soon as Soren is given space to breathe, he's competent and resourceful and good at putting things together.

They both should've gone with their mom. I don't know anything about her, and I know that could not have been worse.

Also, I'm on team Harrow-was-turned-into-his-bird, how about you? We didn't actually see him die, after all, nor have we seen Ezran talk to his dad's pet. (And why can he talk to animals anyway?)
