I have a modest proposal for handling "no knock" warrants.

If they have one, the police are responsible for all damage and injuries *they* cause, and the occupants may be responsible for any damage injuries they cause *that are not a reasonable response to an armed invasion.

and if the police have the wrong address or the wrong people? then they are *solely* responsible for *all* damage and injuries. That includes *them* being liable if an officer is shot by an occupant (just like what happens to one of a group committing a felony if the cops shoot one of them)
