I don't care about the scammyness, I'm willing to shell out $10 just for being amused! And if they're actually honest (riiiiight...) then I get a cheerful reward. Heaven, in the form of the future. Hopefully, one of those nice futures with world peace and lots of food, not one of the evil futures with robots and aliens and humanity enslaved.
Besides, it did keep me entertained for a few minutes, that's gotta be worth something, right?
