I beg to differ. The fight between the Kansas governor and one legislative committee about if churches are allowed to ignore the 10 people gathering limit is pretty stupid. Thankfully, the state supreme court backed up Governor Kelly right before Easter, and churches have to follow the rules the rest of us do.

I'm also pretty pleased that Governor Kelly was the first in the nation to declare that the schools were closed for the rest of the year. So glad we're in the sensible portion of our governor cycle (Kansas swings between electing conservative douche canoes and sensible Democratic women for governor). This would have been so much worse under Brownback or Kobach.

Have to follow in the sense that I haven't heard police being called to break up anything yet, religious or not. But I live in strongly blue college town, and distancing is easier with most of twenty thousand students gone. I think I read about one church doing a drive in service, which seems reasonable to me.

I've heard that it's been hard with the special ed kids that need more hands on education. I don't know what they've been doing, but I've heard that's a big problem with the laws/etc and not being able to be physically with the student.
Splitting the difference wouldn't be great, money wise, at least.
Good luck with your schools.
(BTW, Texas so far has not said we're out until Sept.) We aren't peaking yet, morons.

Yeah, the Cuomo-DeBlasio pissing contest is sooo stupid.

Pennsylvania gun owner: I want gun stores closed during coronavirus

Interesting. My brother is in Florida and gun stores are open there. They made a point about it when they designated 'essential businesses' could remain open.

Well, on a positive note, Maine's Governor signed an executive order yesterday declaring the Easter Bunny to be an essential worker and that he can carry on doing his job as long as he practices proper social distancing. I've seen a copy of the EO on Flamebook, but her staff haven't updated the state website with it yet or I'd link it.

I believe school is closed, officially. I mean, how could it not be?

People forget the basic elements of how the virus works and start acting like it's nothing.
