Date: 2020-04-12 02:21 am (UTC)I'm also pretty pleased that Governor Kelly was the first in the nation to declare that the schools were closed for the rest of the year. So glad we're in the sensible portion of our governor cycle (Kansas swings between electing conservative douche canoes and sensible Democratic women for governor). This would have been so much worse under Brownback or Kobach.

Date: 2020-04-12 02:42 am (UTC)* At which point we can reevaluate, but I think they won't be able to justify keeping the elementary and D75 (special education) schools closed much longer than that, and I'm not sure they'll be able to split the difference and open only some grades and not others.

Date: 2020-04-12 02:49 am (UTC)Splitting the difference wouldn't be great, money wise, at least.
Good luck with your schools.
(BTW, Texas so far has not said we're out until Sept.) We aren't peaking yet, morons.

Interesting. My brother is in Florida and gun stores are open there. They made a point about it when they designated 'essential businesses' could remain open.
