Sorry, I am culturally unfamiliar with Sunday comics and therefore did not know that they're called "the funnies" or that their sole purpose is humour. That's why I asked.
I guess so. I'm accustomed to newspaper cartoons being political/satirical which would explain why this 'toon didn't hit me as it did you. But I can now appreciate that it would annoy you.
I should hope I wouldn't mind it in political cartoons, or even a normal newspaper comic that's usually more political than plain humor - but foxtrot tends towards really low-key, innocuous humor. Very jarring.
At least it's better than the usual, "F1rST POST!" war, or "Foxtrot real sucks lately, I'm not going to read it anymore". But yeah, It would be nice if he stuck to funny.
