The lj-cut is your my friend, especially when posting large photos. I know you know how to use it. This is a nag here because I really don't want to be a nudge and stalk you all to your own journals to ask you to stop tormenting my friends page. My monitor stopped acting funny (I'm not sure if that's going to last, though) and I changed my monitor settings back to the lower-definition version. Unless I hook up my laptop again (unlikely), pictures mess up my friends page. I like to read your posts, and I can't do that if I have to scroll. Really.

And, yes, this means you. If you really have issues with the lj-cut, please tell me, I'll shunt you off my default friends list. I really don't want to have to do that. I like all youse guys.

I've been having trouble with people posting longass URLs to their LJs and screwing up my Flist that way. :-p

If you can jam Firefox/Mozilla onto your computer, you can use the method I've been using for dealing with images from certain memes -- I have AdBlock set to eliminate everything coming from certain URLs, and add/remove new site blocks as necessary. Voila, no more screwed-up Flist, at least not due to the images! :)

Well, then you can block those, at least until they're off your list. *grin* (I have blocked personal photos with it before...actually I've blocked just about every kind of image at one time or another, depending on what I found tolerable/annoying.)

I used to use placeholders for images on my old puter.
The box you tick for that is in manage info.
I try to remember to use cuts. :-)

If you use placeholder on its least inclusive setting (ie so it only replaces the largest pics) it placeholds comics (or Calvin and Hobbes at least) - this is very annoying.

Sorry, I wasn't meaning to... offend? I'm not sure of the word I want, but needless to say I didn't mean to say your idea was no use or anything. I just wanted to point out a limitation of placeholders (and express my general frustration at them.)

I use placeholders, and I tried to set them for only large images, but they show up on all of them. I don't mind, though. I'd rather have them, anyway. I don't have any comic feeds on my list.
