They look in perfectly good condition. You think I should pick them up, drop them off at Goodwill or put them up on Craigslist or something? I know that even cheapie wheelchairs can be a burden, but then again, we don't have endless space....

Yes, please take them to an opshop! They could make a MASSIVE difference to the life of someone who needs one but has little left over after rent/groceries/power bill...

I see people on craigslist listing stuff over people are throwing out on their street, so it's a good idea to save you from having to run out there immediately.

Where I live it's customary to "put them up on Craigslist or something", any kind of curb find (usually under the heading "curb alert" or similar*). I'd personally rather see someone get those much-needed and useful things for free than have to go to a second-hand store and pay money.

*people who do this usually snap a pic of the stuff right where it is, leave it there and post said pic on CL

Goodwill, at least in my area, has a special room of donated durable medical goods like wheelchairs for those who can't afford them.

The Episcopal Church I worked for a number of years ago had a similar room run as a lending library. You checked out what you needed and brought it back when you were recovered or could buy something better. No evangelizing attached: just taking care of human needs in a somewhat poor community.

Some towns have a medical equipment borrowing program for seniors. Maybe check Nextdoor or City Hall to see whether yours does?
