On the link about the Yorkshire farmer... I wonder what he was farming. I believe homosexuality in rams was noticed among people who actually worked with sheep far earlier than it was scientifically investigated.

I remember an old 7up ad where the bottles came with a little packet labelled "security" which contained brown food coloring, so if you missed cola you'd pour it in your 7up so it looked like cola but still tasted like 7up. I also really liked the Yellow Submarine-looking graphics some of those old ads and signs had.
