Could it be lack of sunshine? I've been taking vitamin D in case that helps anyway (D3 + K2).

Not sure? At some point I formed the opinion that my current 75µg of D3 and 100µg of K2 per day is okay and maybe useful but alas I no longer remember how or why. Generally I figure that water-soluble is harder to overdose on and some googling suggests D3's fat-soluble instead so maybe too-much is easier to achieve. Though I also don't now recall why a bit of K might be good to have with it. Maybe someone more knowledgeable will stop by, I'm too good at drawing conclusions then forgetting how I got there.

For some weeks I was often feeling tired and got to wondering if it's possible to have some barely symptomatic sinus infection lingering or somesuch.

I also started taking Vitamin K along with my Vitamin D this last year.
This page gives some reasons it may be good to do so:
https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/vitamin-d-and-vitamin-k

I think there is an upper limit on how much Vit D you should take per day, but what that limit is varies depending on what you read. Most things I read indicate that in the U.S. most people are so low on Vit D that even fairly high amounts are ok.

You *can* overdose on Vitamin D, but it's really bloody hard to do this in the Northern Hemisphere in winter, even if you're very light-skinned.

Like, I had some tests done earlier this winter. I'm supplementing at 500% of the NRV, and my results are at the top end of normal. To be at an overdose point as determined by the blood test, my blood levels would need to be over 100x higher than they actually were.

For reference, I usually start taking Vit D in late September, and stop taking it by the time I can leave work in the light again.

I too have been taking daily vitamin D during the dark half of the year, for several years: I still catch colds and the like, but I don't think I've had a really BAD cold-or-flu (bone-tired, my hair hurts, throwing up in the middle of the night) in those years.

I don't know how long you've been so super tired and "sick but not that sick" however, I got that for about a week and half and later a doctor told me I'd probably had the flu. Strong immune system + flu shot + mild case = that weird not sick thing

I mean, maybe? I was also in a flu cluster at the time. Like they'd closed the schools for a week because there weren't enough teachers, so assuming I'd gotten it wasn't a stretch. But you're around a lot of people so... shrug

Yes, I remember one time I had 'flu (years ago now) I really wasn't going to be getting much out of bed at all until I was mostly better, let alone out to a doctor!

I've been sort of sick but not sick for more than two weeks now, with tiredness and a cough, It seems like it could be a very mild and very persistent case of flu. (I did have a flu shot.)

I wonder if I managed to come down with something after all but the only symptom is being tired?

A virus of exactly that description was going around my neck of the woods in the autumn. Absolutely crashing tiredness, no other symptoms of note. I had it, and found it was distinct from my experience of "flu but had the vaccine".

If we Americans have so many bathrooms how come we can almost never be allowed to use one when we're out?

I did go before I left my home; I'd like to see them go for six goddamn hours without going to the bathroom.

the thing about the bathrooms reminded me that my mom had a male relative that said society started to go downhill when they moved the outhouse into the home.

i don't know. i think indoor bathrooms were starting to get popular where he grew up around the time of world war 1 & that was his basis.

or it's one of those things old people say when when they hear a news story about war or something & it's their comment on how society is doomed.
