I'd like to see NJ get back to being less purple in general, though I think the state is mired with centrism and bureaucratic kleptocracy. I feel like Chris Christie just made it more blatantly obvious.

Already done. (As an off-year election with only local candidates and measures, this one is an entirely by mail deal -- deadline for postboxing was last week.)

I have been blissfully election free this November. BLISSFULLY.

It'll all gear up soon, though.

Done!
Apparently my district had a really low turnout by mail, so here's hoping.

They moved our local elections from odd years to match the larger elections in easy years, out of concern of too few people voting. So there's nothing going on here today.

Over the weekend, I saw all the "VOTE VOTE VOTE" notices going around, and panicked - did I miss my sample ballot while getting set up with the new job? What are the issues in my area? Who's running for what?

...Then I found out that there is no vote in my area. There's special elections nearby (SF is voting today), but nothing for me. Whew.

Nothing local here. I almost wish there were.

I had a slight shock a few days ago... Sunday? Monday? When I remembered that Tuesday was Election Day, and I had not researched the elections yet.

But it turned out that my precinct (not belonging to the city) had no election this year; nothing to vote on. Some other precincts were voting for city council members.

Russet had a phone con at 10:30, we voted right about noon in Cloudcroft and were 114th. For a village of 600 or so, that's pretty good turnout for an off-year. Three school board positions, two propositions.
