"Let a Thousand Parties Bloom" - this has way too much bothsidesism, entirely neglects to mention that white supremacy has been the driving force behind the modern GOP for almost 40 years, mostly ignores the fact that Republican wins in many places require voter suppression and similar tactics, and doesn't deal with the issue that the GOP is increasingly focused on victory at any cost, including breaking laws to win, while the Democratic Party is not. Then I hit "Make it easier to vote? Absolutely. But for six decades, reform after reform has made it easier to vote in the United States, and turnout has barely budged.", and I knew the author was woefully uninformed or had an agenda that was (at best) dubious - Oregon boosted its voter turnout by almost 10% by going to vote by mail, although turnout is a bit down down, because automatic voter registration means the percentage of adults who are new registered voters is notably higher than before. Meanwhile, Colorado (with vote by mail and same day registration) has even higher voter turnout. Meanwhile states like Georgia and the other red states that specialize in voter suppression have voter turnout 15-20% lower than states that try to actually encourage people to vote. After reading this, I'm drastically uninclined to trust any recommendations that author might make.
