Loved the songs, but I felt they kinda flubbed it a bit on the message.
At the end of the last episode I was all "Okay, but you can't just fix people like that."
And with Spinel, we see that. She goes back and forth between wanting to correct her errors to thinking Steven's abandoning her, to sobbing. Given what happened to her (omg, Pink, no. Other people are not toys!) that's very believable.
Buuuuut then it all still wraps up neatly a few in-show minutes later. (Of course, it wraps up by Steven fobbing her off on the still incredibly co-dependent and toxic Diamonds, in the hopes that they'll keep each other busy, but still. Still.)
I also have some serious questions about the timeline. Did they just happen to have that stuff lying around the Garden or...?
And, like other people, I'm a bit disappointed we didn't see more of the rebuilding Homeworld/relationships with people aspect. Nope, we skipped right past that incredibly rapid two year mission.
Loved the songs, though.

Date: 2019-09-22 05:33 pm (UTC)I would pay a whole lot of money for the graphic novel (or, heck, the regular novel) of "everything the Crewniverse would've done if they had been guaranteed at least 5 more seasons after A Single Pale Rose, instead of rushing to wrap up as much as possible by Change Your Mind in case they got cancelled."
