It's the continuity that gets me. They don't just reset arbitrarily every September, they continually talk about things they did the previous years without ever noticing that it's the SAME year over and over again. People have babies which age to some predetermined point and then start looping with everybody else. They date and break up and they remember these events.
(Was it really just 14 years, though? Even from the start, parts of Stoneybrook were weirdly anachronistically backwards.)
