Remember that judge who apparently thinks that being a good boy from a good family means you get extra leeway?

In 2003, in another case that made headlines, Judge Troiano was also asked by prosecutors to try a teenager as an adult — a 16-year-old who had body slammed his 7-year-old cousin, killing him.

“We have a healthy 16-year-old doing something like this to a 7-year-old,” the judge said of his decision to have the teenager, Wesley A. Thomas, tried in adult court.

“The excuse of boys being boys does not hold water in this court. We have a 16-year-old who should have known better.”

Those telling lines are buried at the bottom of an article that spends a whole lot of time trying to exonerate this judge. I agree he shouldn't be receiving death threats, nor yet rape threats (though I guess it wouldn't really count unless he was in a shack or alley?), and as I said I'm not a huge fan of trying juveniles in adult court anyway, but his priorities are clearly screwy.
