I haven't been rewatching Veronica Mars because Eva's been playing Phoenix Wright

Two takeaways: One, Phoenix is a bit of an asshole, and the people coming up with character names aren't half as clever as they think they are. Two, he and Edgeworth were totally lovers, right? I'd say it's in the subtext, but it's very close to, well, text.

I love that series! Phoenix and Edgeworth are extremely shippy but I'm not entirely convinced most of the shippier moments are that way on purpose. Certainly, the writers throw as many bones to Phoenix/Maya shippers. But it's a series extremely low in romantic subplots, so at least nobody's ships get torpedoed by canon.

Edgeworth is just so emotional every time they meet.

Eva plays, and we pause at every interaction in order to give each other meaningful glances and say everything with dramatic intonations.

Honestly, there's six Phoenix Wright games, and the only one in which Phoenix and Edgeworth aren't completely ridiculous about each other is the one Edgeworth isn't in. Dramatic intonations are completely suitable for them.
