As I've said elsewhere I'm with AOC on this, as that's exactly what it is. It's noooot about their damned religion(s) or what's natural or "right" or "moral" or anything else, it's about them wanting to regain and keep every power over women that they can. (You might not have skulked around #Repeal19thAmendment Twitter but I did - back in 2016. Not a pretty place, especially not for women.)

And not that I think my comment could be taken as such, but just so we're very clear, this isn't me playing devil's advocate at all. I just don't have a way of participating, but would like to make my voice heard nonetheless, because this disgusts me.

When I scrolled through the list of events, the ones further down the list tended to be in the evening (6-7pm), if that helps. Don't know if any of those are near you.

Ugh, that sucks. I was glad that at least a few places had event organizers who had considered the needs of people with 9-5 jobs--- one of the events actually outright stated that that was their reasoning for starting theirs later.

We live in a society that is comfortable letting men get away with sexual violence, but determined not to let women get away with consensual sex. This is why there are vast swathes of society who are comfortable giving vast executive and judicial power to men credibly accused of sexual assault—as long as those same men promise to confiscate women’s power to sexually self-determine.

It's pretty clear they have intentions of trying to get as much of the precedent that says women are people (and, probably, queer people are people) overturned so they can go back to the world where their power is unquestioned and everyone has to bow to them.
