I keep seeing this in various news feeds, and I don't even know what to say. What can you say about an atrocity on this scale? I can barely process the multiple, ongoing, smaller ones that keep breaking out closer to me. It just sucks.

Our Beloved Leader tweeted that 200 million people died, it stayed up for 20 minutes before being deleted. They must have been getting a lot of tourist trade for a country with a population of 12.6 million.

I don't see anything particularly "ironic" about it being Buddhists rather than anybody else perpetrating this.

Buddhism tends to give a vision of being nonviolent, bolstered by it being embraced in America mostly by white wealthy new age types.

The truth of it is always muddled. No one here will point that finger unless they are aware of the situation there, it'll just be another example of the "religion of peace."

Not like they would have been convinced otherwise anyway, sadly.

Small surprises. One of the paramilitary groups I've been watching has been pushing that awful narrative with the lack of nuance you'd normally expect.

This is a group that also detained migrants across the border. The one that the FBI is currently openly investigating.
