HIAS is offering a printable refugee-crisis Haggadah. From the outside it seems like a pretty appropriate theme for the holiday, and I feel you'd be hard-pressed to find a current cause that's more important than the tens of millions of people who are currently displaced... though global warming is a close second, and anyway, likely to only create more refugees.

One of our alternate haggadahs is a civil rights movement one (I forget the title) with an emphasis very much in keeping with that refugee one. I like a lot of HIAS's adaptations -- except for the changing the plagues, which gives me a sudden "no! not that!" reaction, one I need to think about what it means for me. (And no, it's not just giving up the frog song.)

Thanks for the haggadah link. I expect to mine it for supplementary readings. It skips too much required stuff for me to be able to use it straight, but I supplement the baseline haggadah with stuff from others all the time, and this year I have a new source of ideas.

HIAS is the group that the white-supremacist scum who shot up Tree of Life was angry about, so this has particular relevance locally. He was upset that one of the other congregations in that building supported HIAS's mission. So, naturally (in his brain), he decided to kill them, and anybody else who happened to be around at the time.
