I happened to check on Amazon just now, and what looks like nearly all of Noel Streatfeild's books - at least, all the good ones - are available on Kindle in the US.

I know what I'm saving my pennies for now.

I actually knew about it months ago. I had written to the publisher about why they were STILL not available as ebooks, and why I couldn't buy them off the UK site, and he let the cat out of the bag. But he asked me very politely not to reveal the news, so I made myself forget about it.

I have started downloading them.

I was fascinated to see that they also added her ADULT novels, including The Whicharts, which was the predecessor of Ballet Shoes. I'm leery of reading it, though. Might spoil the children's book for me.

They didn't do Apple Bough/Traveling Shoes, though, and that is one of my favorites.

Yesssss, I saw the preorders for them back in the summer and I am VERY excited at finally having ebook copies of her Shoe books. On the other hand, what's with these prices?? $10.99 for Movie Shoes????
