One thing I found shocking about the whole debacle, as someone who hasn't used an apple product in over a decade, is the extent of censorship in the Apple Store/on iphones. Obviously banning actual child pornography is one thing (since it's legitimately harmful and illegal), but such an overall restriction on adults accessing "adult" content was very surprising to me. (plus in general the iphone's limits on what programs you can install on a phone you paid like $1k for)

My guess is that people who were angry that their kid accessed their account and bought $150 in apps would be even more pissed if those apps were "dirty".

I mean, frankly it's wild to me that anyone saves their payment info at all, so I'm probably so far off-demo that my opinion shouldn't count lol

They don't want stuff that's primarily "adult". An app that accesses user-generated content must filter NSFW by default, and require you to go to a website to change the option, not provide a toggle within the app.

Yeah idk, i think filtering by default is fine (eg: I think it's good when it's difficult to accidentally stumble across pornography) but............ the apple guidelines still seem to restrictive to me? And allow Apple themselves too much of a role in terms of judgement/content moderation. Then again, I don't buy their products so who cares.
