The foghorn was so loud today

it sounded like it must be twice as close to the house as it actually is. (And then after every blast I'd hear some little kid outside carefully mimicking the sound.)

Foghorns always make me think of that short story that The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms is based off of--- I was privileged to see Ray Bradbury tell the story of how he was inspired to write it in person. Like that kid, he felt compelled to imitate it, and the lonely dinosaur that answered it. It remains on of the highlights of my existence.

That mimic got a LOL out of me!

I had to take Charlie out last night for him to do biological things before we retired for the night and it had been raining and it was quite misty/foggy out. Very purty with the fullish moon in the trees.
