Congrats on your kid discovering Sir Pterry! I felt very fortunate in getting to meet him several years back at the Tempe Disk World Con. I'm currently re-reading the whole shebang and just finished Little Gods, Lords and Ladies is next.

I was going to say Masquerade is a good book, but pretty much all of them are.

I'm trying to play it cool, so as to not scare her off with my enthusiasm.

I think that's exactly the way to play it.  You might nudge her towards The Wee Free Men, technically it's YA, but it's also incredibly awesome.  Then again, maybe not, as the last book of the Tiffany Aching book is also his very last book and a part of it is absolutely crushing.
