I'm not sure which is worse, their content or their layout

People! Starving yourself? Not cool. Not smart. Not even especially effective for long-term weight loss, though I suspect that's only a peripheral reason for most eating disorders. And big fucking text? EVIL.

...how exactly do they expect people to be able to read that?

I was wondering the very same thing!

It's even worse in Mozilla than it is in IE... there's no massive horizontal scrollbar in IE.

Haha, I'm on Firefox, so I know.

Me too. That just makes the content even more sickening.

I think it's hilarious when someone has a journal layout that looks perfectly readable in IE, but because of a slight CSS typo, is rendered completely illegible in any other browser-- things like white on a white background, for instance.

My eyes are bleeding! Too much red text! Too many capital letters! I think the person who made that has serious issues (other than their weight, obviously) I mean, calling people fat because they broke the rules?

pro-anas scare the fucking shit out of me.

eye-bleeding LJ layouts are just icing on the cake.

(Cake, icing, ha, I kill me. *totters off to lie down*)

At least we know natural selection has a good chance of weeding out the pro-anas before they breed. Could you imagine one of these girls in prehistoric times? They'd be dead in a week. Me, I have a nice layer of flubber to help me through a cold winter^_~

Subcutaneous fat: Don't leave home without it!

Heheh, your wrists are supposed to be bony silly! Or at least, if you're small to medium build they are.

Wow. The first thing I saw was the blinking eye and that really freaked me out. I had difficulty following which rules people broke because of the text. It's the oddest thing I've seen in awhile. I don't know why anyone would be willing to risk that kind of rejection (especially if xe has an eating disorder).

Well, had to cut and paste the text of the info page into a word processor to read it, and now wishing I hadn't gone through the trouble. I have a tendency to look behind the curtain even when I know I shouldn't!

Really disturbing. On so many levels.

Thanks for sharing! :)

Totally OT, but...

I've seen the picture you have for an icon somewhere before, but I can't remember where or who. I don't suppose you could tell me...?

I got it out of a clip art book, so because the image is common use, it didn't have any information about where it came from. I had the same feeling when I saw it, but still haven't been able to find it's source.

Most of the pro_ana communities I've seen horrify me. But, whoa, big text.

Uh-oh disturbing!

Of course it's disturbing. Purposefully propagating a disease couldn't possibly be good. But the fact that there is a rating community for it.

I'm not sure if I was more disturbed by the content or by the fact that out of all the apps I saw, if the person was anywhere near my height, I weighed less than them. And I'm at my highest weight ever. Maybe I have a problem and I don't even know it. I love food though. And I'm afraid of throwing up. So, I'm pretty sure I'm ok. But still disturbed by the content and by the fact that my stats could blend in.

It's strange to feel "fat" and even wear clothes toward the end of a size spectrum, yet be smaller than people with an eating disorder.

It is true that some people with eating disorders are not noticeably underweight, though, because as you pointed out-it's not really an effective means of weight loss. There is also a lot of fluctuating, I understand.

Unless it's totally subconscious though, I'm pretty sure I don't have an eating disorder. I eat a lot and feel pretty good.

You've got to be fucking kidding me. What are these people, twelve?

Being called "fat" for breaking rules?

How fucking humiliating. That community is the biggest piece of shit I have ever seen.

If I have offended anyone, I apologize...but DAMN!

(I could see the text just fine, BTW...but then I'm on AOHell at the moment.)
