(Because Bush fell off his bike again)

...I suppose its not as far fetched as the thought of the head of the american government being too stupid to accomplish simple tasks like riding a bike or eating.

Funny, funny, really. Except that they aren't simple tasks. I can't ride a bike. Never learned how, don't intend to try. I routinely start to fall on flat ground. Stub my toe twice, three times a day, easy. Can't walk a straight line unless I think about it. Prefer to eat food that doesn't use utensils, spill a lot, and still have trouble with that whole "mouth closed" thing (but at least I can breathe now and my teeth don't get in the way....) I also drop things, often, because my hands forget that they're holding anything. I've hit myself with things I intended to toss at somebody else. And on and on and on.

These jokes long ago ceased to be funny. Yes, Bush is an idiot, but this doesn't prove it, and it's neither funny nor true to compare coordination to intelligence. I know it's not true, I'm certainly doing well enough in school this term (finally, got the As I always am capable of getting*), and as for funny, it's too stupid and old to be funny. So quit it.

*Last year sucked, I was barely able to make it out of bed, let alone get to class. If I had, though, I'd've gotten my standard A grades. Every class I've passed but Latin, all my college career, has been either an A or an A-

I can't ride a bike, either. I learned how, but I'm not really coordinated so I can only ride a little ways before I fall over. :/

In fact, I went to the gym today and hopped on the treadmill. Whilst I was walking I dropped something, and without thinking, I stopped to bend over to pick it up. I fell flat on my butt. Good thing it was only me and another woman around, and she told me she had done the same thing before, so I didn't feel like such a loser. :P

haha that's creating a really funny image in my head right now. i can totally see myself doing something like that.

i'm not so hot on a bike either. i can ride it, but i'm all unsteady and wobbly. i always feel like i'm about to fall over.

Treadmills are exceedingly dangerous things. No one should ever bend over to pick something up while the tread is moving. It's hard to remember, because walking-in-place is a completely alien thing to do with our physiology, and our minds think we can stop, or we think we are already stopped, when in fact the ground keeps moving forward. No one is graceful when they bend over on a treadmill.

Seriously. As if there aren't plenty of legitimate reasons not to like Bush as it is. But something like that is just petty and cruel.

I agree wholeheartedly. I can ride a bike, but I'm still a terribly clumsy person, and I wouldn't want anyone to judge my intelligence based on that either.

People who use arguments like that to back up their dislike of Bush only make themselves look bad.

It figures... my coordination, or lack thereof, is rather similar. I never learned to ride a bike, I can't walk in a straight line, and I still have trouble coordinating everything while eating as well (and still have to consciously concentrate on keeping my mouth closed while eating).

But that's the thing, he was eating food that didn't require utensils when he choked on it^_~

ARGH. EXACTLY. I cannot ride a bike, cannot eat properly, cannot tie shoelaces, am 'developmentally delayed' in many ways. The 'simple' tasks that come 'naturally' are some of the hardest.

However, that does not automatically make me TEH STOOPID in every way. (It is hard to define stupidity, anyway, as there are so many different kinds of cleverness.
