And where is the outrage in the Media? If the Democrats had tried something like this the Rethugnican-controlled media would have been out for blood; it would be on the front page for months.
They still have to reconcile the House and Senate versions of the bill, though, which is easier said than done. They had to make some steep promises to a few Republican senators to get their votes, and if just one of them defects, the bill is dead. Not to say they can't do it, but it's a narrow tightrope they have to walk, and it's not a done deal yet.
They've had rather a tough time of it, thank goodness. If they pass this tax thing in the end, it'll be their first real legislative victory DESPITE having a majority and a supportive President.
I suspect that's part of why they voted to vote on something that half the people hadn't been allowed to even read: they're desperate to get something passed because they're thinking the same thing the rest of us are about the Administration's problems.
Because if there's one thing this government can get right, it's making sure the public treasury is properly raided to benefit the very wealthiest and that the poorest party for it.
