So, our alien visitors will be automatically granted the rights and privileges of citizens? Is that really what you mean to say, Madame President? Because if that's the case, I really want to know what the usual immigration policy is over in Supergirl's world. How many Syrian (and other) refugees did they admit last year?

Yeah, but in contrast to those Syrians, these people speak perfect English and look how Americans are supposed to look (white), so it's okay.

All that aside - a more serious answer would probably be something along the lines of: What kind of background checks are you going to do on someone whose planet was just destroyed?

Do all of them have destroyed planets? Surely some are just escaping poverty, war, and ennui?
