Good film after the traditional fashion of Disney films, but not worth springing extra for the 3-D.

The theater we saw it in has recently installed recliners, sooooo nifty. I don't know why they aren't a more popular theater, actually - they're pretty conveniently located if you happen to be in Lower Manhattan, the space is clean, there's food nearby and parks - but there's never very many people there. (That's part of the charm, if you ask me.)

We went with the girls' friend N, and I think I'll print out that article on traditional Polynesian maps to show her. I should've done that before we went, but forethought is never my strong suit.

Edit: Oh, something I haven't seen talked about, but I noticed - this film happened to show a wide range of female ages. Not just child, young, and decrepit - Moana's mom managed to look realistically middle-aged as well. Which is nice, and not something we really do see enough of.
