Well, maybe. I seldom (almost never) eat any kind of arthropod, and the few times I've had okra, it hasn't agreed too well with me - it wasn't in a stew, though; might be better that way. I like the taste of seafood all right, as long as I don't have to look at it.

You can make gumbo without okra, of course, you just use file instead. Except my file has disappeared and I don't know where. It's not like I use it that often. You can make gumbo without shrimp or crab as well - just add more fish and chicken.
