I don't understand this belief that single parents can't raise a child (and in extension, gay parents). Plenty of people are raised by one parent, and they don't have a higher pecentage of "fucked upness" than people with two, hetero parents of the same background. Especially after watching him raise his daughter (he's the only first hand single parent I know-- and he's a damn good parent). I don't believe all the people that tell him he needs a wife, that his daughter will be maladjusted and a (oh woe!) a lesbian because she has a male role model!
From where I'm standing she's perfectly well-adjusted, doesn't try to pee standing up, and is perfectly aware that she's a girl and doesn't deserve to be given crap because of it.
Sorry. That is just such a pet peeve of mine. I have yet to see any evidence that you need a "standard" family to grow up right.
