Cheney tells opponent to fuck off.

The incident occurred on Tuesday in a terse discussion between the two that touched on politics, religion and money, with Cheney finally telling Leahy to "f--- off" or "go f--- yourself," the aides said on Thursday.

"I think he was just having a bad day," Leahy was quoted as saying on CNN, which first reported the incident. "I was kind of shocked to hear that kind of language on the floor."


I, unlike the press, hate the convention of dashing out words. I find it dishonest and pointless. Just to explain why I spelled out the word fuck. I suppose I could have said "copulate with himself"....

I suppose if I was Leahy I would have said to the press, as a joke, that Cheney was "Just being a Dick."

But that's just me. I probably have bad taste and am repeating jokes that have been said before.

If you were Leahy (note the subjunctive, and my prescriptivist leanings), you'd say nothing of the sort. You'd remember to say something vague and bland, like any politician.
