Refrigerators may differ, but mine has the door hinges held on by nuts you can remove with a socket wrench. If you need to take the door off with the refrigerator standing upright, it helps to have a second person to support the door, so it's never hanging from a single hinge. The hardest part is the bottom hinge, because you can't see the nut...you just have to grope for it with the wrench. My fridge has a little cap that snaps over the top hinge. You don't have to push hard to take it off, it's like opening a rubbermaid container. It's easiest to do it with the refrigerator laying on its side, but hardly any kitchens have room for that.

Every time we've moved, we've had to reverse fridge doors so we're old pros. Fridge hinges have little decorative caps. Pop those off and it becomes a lot easier to manage. But this family handyman site has illustrations to help even more: http://www.familyhandyman.com/appliance-repair/refrigerator-repair/how-to-reverse-a-refrigerator-door/view-all

Here's what Google has to say. (https://www.google.com/search?q=remove+refrigerator+door) If that doesn't suffice, call a handyman. Good luck!

When I came home for Christmas in my first year of uni, my parents had just bought a new fridge to live in the coal hole (pantry). As supplied, the door was on the wrong side. So my first day home was spent helping Dad reverse the door. More specifically, sitting on the floor in the coal hole, wedged between the fridge and the wall, taking the fridge's weight whilst Dad tipped it back and struggled to remove and reattach the door. For hours.

Happy times.

I hope your door reversal proceeds/ed more smoothly.
