So, Evangeline was adamantly opposed to a Saturday swim class. I feel her, I do, but we signed up at the end of the week, and it was Saturday or she missed two classes instead of just one. (But we can always change the day once she takes the first class. It's easy peasy once they're out of Polliwog.)

She was more or less okay with it on Friday, but when this morning rolled around she threw an epic fit and simply refused to go. And refused to go, and refused to go. Finally, I remembered something: I hate grape candies. Loathe them. And the last time I'd bought sour gummy worms from Whole Foods I'd carefully picked out the orange and yellows and left the purples, as is my wont, but I hadn't thrown out the remains yet. Eva's not really supposed to have gummy candies because of the braces, but the gummy candies from Whole Foods are, like, vegan and shit and have a less sticky texture, and I'm willing to stretch a point.

So I called her up. Eva's newest thing is answering the phone like she's a secretary. Seriously, she'll even put you on hold and hum to simulate muzak. It is, without a doubt, freaking adorable. So I called her up and informed her that I was with Purple Gummy Worms Incorporated and she had a delivery to pick up. And once she had been thoroughly bribed, I convinced her to go to swimming today.

Turns out she adores her teacher (for his teaching skills, she hastened to clarify) and is willing to suck it up and stay in Saturday classes for the remainder of the session. Which is great, sorta, but now I gotta bring her every week and to be honest, I also like my Saturdays to myself.

Oh well. I carefully texted that to my sister so we have a record. If she whines next week, I'll just hoist her over my shoulder and drag here there.

That reminds me. I don't think I ever said, but Dad was very excited when I gave him the root beer sweets. So thank you again for them!
