He's not a rapist, he's a murderer, and he might be alive in 50 years. They ought to sentence him to life and make sure he doesn't get out. *shuddercries*

I've had to read a lot on prison dynamics over the years and one of the things that comes across consistently is how fellow inmates treat people who are incarcerated for killing, raping, hurting children. They usually don't last long in prison unless isolated because they end up murdered by fellow inmates or driven to suicide by them.

It's not a huge comfort, but I'm just saying the chances of him being around in 50 years to get out are very slim.

Agreed. My stepfather who was executed about a year ago was in jail for killing his child in an attempted murder-suicide. She died, but he lived, and when he was in jail he was constantly mistreated by his fellow prisoners. The mistreatment is only one of a few reasons why he didn't appeal the judgement.

Inmates almost always find these things out, and chances are excellent that this guy won't make it out of jail alive.
